AORN is proud to offer this new educational product. The audioconferences offer timely information on topics important to perioperative nurses. Preparing for the CNOR Examination

Oct 4-5, 2003 Holiday Inn Oakland Airport, Calif

This program will alleviate the fear of taking the CNOR examination by walking participants through the examination's format and subject areas. The subject areas will be related to clinical situations with which perioperative nurses are familiar. The program also will provide effective test-taking strategies and a framework for participants to develop their own plan for continued examination preparation.

Perioperative Perspective: Creating a Healthy Environment for Our Patients, Ourselves, and Our Profession

Oct 11-12, 2003 Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, Mich

AORN and AORN of Southwest Michigan will host this two-day conference. The conference focuses on patient safety and a healthy work environment for staff members.

Patient Safety--Laser Concepts in Health Care

Oct 23, 2003 Opryland Resort and Convention Center, Nashville

In this preconference session for the AORN Clinical Multispecialty Conference, Penny Smalley, RN, will present a special program geared toward protecting staff members and patients from the hazards inherent in using medical laser equipment. This all-day interactive session is designed to introduce the fundamental concepts of laser science as applied to the technology and safety required of perioperative professionals working with and responsible for class 3b and class 4 medical lasers.

AORN Clinical Multispecialty Conference

Oct 23-25, 2003 Opryland Resort and Convention Center, Nashville

Education content planned for this conference will relate to clinical practice issues. Specialty areas included are advanced technology, cardiothoracics, neurosurgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, and RN first assisting. In-depth pre-conference education sessions will be offered on Thursday, Oct 23. Several of these offerings are hands-on programs.

Perioperative Nursing: Quest for Knowledge

Eighth Conference on Infectious Diseases

Dec 8-10, 2003 Kimberly-Clark Corporate Facility, Roswell, Ga

This conference brings together a nationally recognized faculty of leading infectious disease professionals. Attendees will obtain the latest information about emerging infectious disease threats and learn strategies to protect patients and staff members and decrease morbidity and mortality related to nosocomial infections, including surgical site infections. Attendance is limited to 84 participants.
