AORN's Periop 101: A Core Curriculum--formerly called AORN's Perioperative Nursing Course 101--is a comprehensive online program for educating new perioperative nurses. The curriculum covers 26 crucial topics and is designed to be integrated with your facility's specific policies and procedures in a clinical practicum and preceptorship. This facilitator-led course will be available online this fall.

ADVANCED AMBULATORY SURGERY ADMINISTRATOR CERTIFICATE PROGRAM. AORN has developed a certificate program that addresses the needs of directors and administrators of ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs). Participants must complete eight of the 10 online course modules in four months to earn the certificate and continuing education contact hours.
The program addresses issues that directors or administrators of ASCs face, such as compliance and regulatory issues and inventory management. Topics include

* the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996,
