Contest seeks to reward nurses' accomplishments

AORN Journal, May, 2004

Nominations for the 2004 Cherokee Inspired Comfort Award are being accepted until June 30, 2004, according to a March 17, 2004, news release from Cherokee Uniforms, a designer and manufacturer of health care apparel. Individuals are encouraged to nominate nurses who have profoundly affected the lives of others through their service, sacrifice, and innovation. The award acknowledges the expertise, dedication, and compassion that nurses demonstrate in their work and raises public awareness of the profession by putting winners' accomplishments in the spotlight.

Winners will be chosen in three categories: RN, licensed practical or Licensed vocational nurse, and student nurse. The top prize winner in each category will receive a Caribbean cruise for two and a specially engraved stethoscope. Eight additional winners will receive all-expense paid trips to their specialty association or state nursing association convention in 2005, annual memberships to the nurse association of their choice, and engraved stethoscopes. The company also is offering a $2,000 grant to the first 10 nursing associations and the first 10 nursing schools that submit 200 entries.

Winners will be announced in September 2004. For submission forms and contest guidelines, visit Cherokee Uniform's web site at http://www.chero keeuniforms.com/inspiredcomfort/index2004.htm.
