CLINICAL INNOVATIONS

Share practical stories of problem solving in clinical practice and solutions that have been formulated. Solutions must be consistent with AORN Standards, Recommended Practices, and Guidelines. Include follow-up information on how the solution has solved the practice problem to help readers determine measures for making changes or incorporating practices in their own settings.

EDUCATIONAL INNOVATIONS

Share practical stories of teaching-learning strategies for patients or peers, with solutions that have been formulated. Include follow-up information on how solutions have solved the practice or educational problem.

PERIOPERATIVE PHARMACOLOGY

A thorough discussion of practices and perioperative implications is required to help readers recognize patient care needs, adverse reactions, and nursing responsibilities for assessment, implementation, and discharge teaching.

ELDER CARE/PEDIATRIC CARE

Describe interventions, specific needs, and new information regarding care of older adult patients or pediatric patients. Explain regulatory requirements that affect older adult patients or children (ie, infants, adolescents).
