Toys R Us Steals CEO

Selling to Kids, Jan 26, 2000

John Eyler, FAO Schwarz's chief executive of eight years, has joined Toys R Us, replacing Michael Goldstein, the interim CEO. His first task will be to calm the troubled waters following the toy store's holiday debacle and instability at the top. The company is warning profits will be lower than expected, and a class action lawsuit is looming after toysrus.com was unable to deliver understocked items in time for gift-giving, as promised.
