Robert L. Oakley, an SLA member and director of the law library at Georgetown University died September 29 of complications from a fall in August. He was 61.
Mr. Oakley advised the Library of Congress on copyright law and technology. He had served as board president of the American Association of Law Libraries and was its Washington affairs representative at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife of two years, Barbara DesRosiers Oakley of Germantown, Maryland; two children from his first marriage, Esther Oakley of Germantown and Daniel Oakley of Rockville, Maryland; his mother and stepfather, Allese and Paul Vestigo of Gresham, Oregon; two half brothers; and two stepbrothers.
