Cognex (Chicago, IL) has introduced the In-sight 1000, a new machine vision sensor priced under $4,000 that combines Cognex's industry-leading vision camera, processing, software and networking technologies into a single, compact unit. About the size of a standard machine vision camera, the In-sight 1000 can be easily integrated on the production line and networked throughout the manufacturing plant.

It features a complete library of Cognex's proven vision software tools, which enable the In-sight 1000 to solve a wide range of machine vision applications in a number of major industries. For example, it can be used in the automotive industry to locate engine parts for robotic handling.
