Surface Profiler - offered by Taylor Hobson - Brief Article

Automotive Manufacturing & Production, Sept, 2001

Who: Taylor Hobson (Rolling Meadows, IL)

What: Talyscan 150 3D surface profiler

Why you should care: The Talyscan 150 uses familiar industry scanning techniques to scan the third dimension on parts and making total surface analysis readily available to the masses.

Pertinent Data: The profiler comes with two integrated gauge heads. The inductive gauge is a stylus type pick-up with 60nm resolution at 2.5mm range and 2nm resolution at 0.1mm range-which makes it appropriate for heavily textured and polished surfaces. Scanning does not require constant attention by an operator, which saves time and increases productivity. Once the start and end points for the scan are input, the operator can do other tasks. When the scanning is complete the data is transferred automatically to analysis software.
