Emedia Professional, March, 1999
i-O Display Systems LLC has introduced the Televizer portable DVD theater. Televizer allows users to watch DVD movies anywhere by putting on the i-glasses Personal Display System. Business travelers can also use the Televizer as a sales presentation system for DVD- or VideoCD-based presentations. The system includes Panasonic's P-10 portable DVD player, an eight-ounce pair of i-glasses manufactured by i-O Display Systems, and a custom carrying case. It also includes a rechargeable battery that provides three-and-a-half hours of movie watching per charge. When connected to a video source (DVD, VCR, or video game), the i-glasses create the illusion of an 80-inch screen floating 11 feet away from the viewer, while over-the-ear headphones provide stereo sound. The suggested retail price for the Televizer system is $1,495.
