Media 100 to ACQUIRE terran interactive - Brief Article

Media 100 Inc. has announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Terran Interactive, Inc. The companies have not disclosed financial terms of the agreement. John Molinari, CEO of Media 100 said, "We see the trend to Internet video and DVD distribution accelerating and see the combined company positioned to take advantage of this growth." According to Dana LoPiccolo-Giles, president of Terran Interactive, Terran will continue to focus on video encoding and streaming architectures, but will leverage Media 100's expertise in real-time video processing to introduce accelerated versions of Terran's products for faster and easier delivery of video on Web sites and DVD.

According to Molinari, Media 100 plans to operate Terran as a wholly-owned subsidiary with combined operations.
