IT budget growth anticipated in 1998

Two-thirds of the nation's Chief Information Officers intend to increase their IT budgets by an average of 20 percent this year, according to a survey developed by RHI Consulting. Most of the money allocated for IT, say the 1,400 CIOs included in the study, will be invested in hardware purchases (37 percent) and software upgrades (26 percent).
