Latin Beat Magazine, Dec, 2002

I take the opportunity to send you this brief email.. I really like your magazine and I would suggest to have a note that will surely be of major interest for your readers in your next edition about our daughter Arami, 11 years old, recognized internationally as a prodigy child of the Paraguay harp. Please have a look at her web site www.harparami.com where you'll notice that she just issued her first CD, REVELACION. She will be broadcast on November 16 on Univision's famous program CONTROL that will be focusing on prodigy children. Marc, Arami's father, Miami, FL

Re: ESP Latino Music Sampler

I've just had one listen to the entire CD sampler included in your November 2002 issue, but already several are stand-outs: Dave Santiago's Chibola has great energy and makes me want to hear the rest of the album, Dave Santiago and Latin Affair. I also like Grupo Atabal's Requiem a Tiro Puente. Here Comes El Son is a successful combination of hot Latin beats with Beatles' lyrics.

I'm looking forward to playing these on my upcoming shows. Thanks again!

Re: The Smithsonian's Latin Jazz: La Combinación Perfecta Exhibit

... I haven't seen the entire exhibit myself yet, but I plan to go again this weekend and take a closer look. I had the good fortune of meeting Jesse Varela at the opening of the exhibit. I also got a chance to talk to Vicki Solá and her mom, brother and son. They are great people.

I am happy to announce that Arturo Gómez is now heading one of the largest Latin music outlets in the country, "Museo del Disco," from Miami, Florida. This super music store carries over 25,000 titles of Latin music on CDs and DVDs from all over the world. Gómez's Latin music savvy is the right addition to this special music outlet store.
