Herman Olivera the freestyle sonero - Artículo Breve - Entrevista

Latin Beat Magazine, Feb, 2002 by Jesse Varela

JV: Why haven't you recorded as a soloist?

HO: I did once but it went nowhere and the opportunity has never really presented itself again. I've always tried to maintain an integrity as a singer and not just chase a hit. I've lived the music I sing about. The dolor (pain) and alegría (happiness). My life is wrapped up in my songs. I've traveled around the world with Eddie and gotten a couple of awards here and there but all I ask is for the good Lord to grant me the health to continue singing and creating beautiful music. My only hope is that when people hear my music they forget about their problems and their pain if only for a few hours.
