Topic: RSS FeedCelia Cruz in the House The Ultimate Classic Hits Remix Collection - Reseña de audio grabación
Latin Beat Magazine, Feb, 2004 by Rudy Mangual
(Universal Music)
The classic hits of the "Queen of Latin Music" are immortalized in this new recording remixed by four of the top masters of the craft: Giuseppe D (N-Sync, Elvis Crespo. Georgie Porgie and Jon Secada), Oba Frank Lords (Dark Beat, Addicted to Drums, Ricky Martin, Thalia and Gloria Estefan), Al Camera & Mike "DaMooch" Mucci (The Doar, "DaFreeks," Control-Amplitude and Alan T), and Dennis D'Menace (Jennifer Lopez, Roselyn Sánchez, Shakira, Luis Fonsi and Tego Calderón). A total of 13 trademark Celia Cruz hit songs are remixed into the dance worlds of Tribal House, Dark, Body & Soul, Latin House, Funky Martini, Mainstream Dance and Reggaeton. Additional percussions were performed by Kino Moreno. The track Pero La Rumba Es Mejor includes additional background vocals by Dennis Nieves. Intensified are the new remixes of Bomba Colorá, Químbara, Yembelaroco, El Guava, Yerberito Moderno and Canto A La Caridad (with Yoruba chants performed by Oba Frank Lords and a rap by South Rican).. Purists may dismiss the direction and musical value of this remix collection, but club-goers everywhere will love it. It's quite sweet.
