New Conversations Vicenza Jazz Festival May 12-19, 2007 Vicenza, Italy

From May 12 through May 19, the charming town of Vicenza, Italy, will reverberate with the sounds and rhythms of some of the world's greatest jazz performers. The 12th festival called "New Conversations--Vicenza Jazz" will take place with an international array of jazz artists.

The extended program, conceived by artistic director Riccardo Brazzale, includes: "A celebration of Latin jazz" (Ray Mantilla's Space Station, Guinga, Irio De Paula, Orquestra Do Fubá); Carla Bley Quartet (May 14); "A night celebration of German Jazz" (May 16) with Schlippenbach-Lovens-Parker Trio; Joachim Kühn-Gerd, Dudek-Christian, Lillinger-Claudio Fasoli Quartet; Zentralquartett); William Parker Octet with Amiri Baraka (May 15); Anthony Braxton--William Parker Duo (May 15); Abdullah Ibrahim (May 17); Dee Dee Bridgewater (May 19); Paolo Fresu, Ronnie Cuber, Ivo Papazov and many others.

Performances will take place in the marvellous Palladian Teatro Olimpico, Auditorium Canneti, Jazz Café Trivellato and other places of the town. Vicenza Jazz Festival includes various special events: art and photo exhibitions, lectures, street concerts and tribute concerts.

"New Conversations--Vicenza Jazz" is promoted by the City of Vicenza and Trivellato--Mercedes Benz with support of Ministero beni e attività, culturali, Regione Veneto and contribution of A.I.M., Fiera di Vicenza, Jolly Hotel Tiepolo, Assicurazioni Generali, Panic Jazz Club.
