Flute summit at weehawken - Artículo Breve

Latin Beat Magazine, May, 2001 by Rudy Mangual

Since his defection from Cuba in 1980, the former founding member of Irakere has taken command of his role as a cross-cultural ambassador, making music from bebop to Mozart to Latin.

On April 6, 2001, the sleepy town of Weehawken, New Jersey was treated to a magnificent flute soiree in the warm, art-filled home of Grammy award winner Paquito D'Rivera and his beautiful wife, opera singer Brenda Feliciano. Weehawken is just minutes away from Manhattan's Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center just past the Lincoln Tunnel; nevertheless, the music at D'Rivera's estate could easily have come from those two venerable institutions. Good food, good conversation, good friends, great music.
