Los Músicos (Moondo) is Juan Carlos Quintero's best Afro-Caribbean effort and includes an incredible band featuring Joe Rotundi, Luis Conte, Otmaro Ruiz, Walter Rodríguez, Ramón Banda, Eddie Resto and others who excel on La Fiesta, Los Músicos, Melina's Rumba, El Camino and Café Colombia.

Olga Guillot's Faltaba Yo features Arturo Sandoval on piano as well as trumpet, with guests Cachao, Memis Solis, Ed Calle, René Luis Toledo, Manuel Tejada and one of the Dominican Republic's best percussionists who has recorded on hundreds of albums, Juan de la Cruz (Chocolate).

Upcoming projects for next month include Bobby Valentín's 1965 Fonseca release Ritmo Pa' Goza', El Mensajero; Roberto y su Nuevo Montuno's Montuno Llegó; the Johnny Lytle Trio, with Ray Barretto & Milt Hinton's Got That Feeling/Moon Child; Lobo & Melon's 40 Temas Originales; Colombia's Sexteto Juventud with Brujería; Roberto Blades' new Encore; Gonzalo Rubalcaba's Supernova; Niño Rivera y su Conjunto; Cuban salsera Mayte's Como Una Fiera (from 1999); Soneros de Cuba with Pello el Afrokan, Jr., Miguelito Cuni, Jr. and a host of vocalists that include Ciso Guanche and Eduardo Sandoval; and Paquito D' Rivera's Habanera.
