Luis Fonsi Fight The Feeling - Reseña

(MCA Records)

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, young Latin pop singer/author Luis Fonsi has been able to build up a huge fan base around most of the Spanish-speaking world after only releasing two Spanish language CDs. His meteoric rise began in 1998 with his debut CD, Comenzaré. The bilingual vocalist is now ready to take over the rest of the planet with his first English-language recording titled Fight the Feeling for MCA Records/Universal Latino.

Strong on memorable melodies and passionate lyrics, Fonsi's Fight the Feeling has all the right ingredients necessary to burn the pop charts. With up-tempo tracks Keep My Cool and Twisted, and the phat beats and great sounds of Turn It Up and One Night Thing, done "a la Michael Jackson style," Fonsi has no problem delivering quality pop music to an English audience. Rounding off the recording are several beautiful ballads. If Only (a flamenco-flavored lament), Save Me (a heartbreaking confessional), and the romantic love song I Wish, stand out like gems. To make his life more interesting, Fonsi simultaneously recorded his third Spanish CD Amor Secreto, which includes the hit single Quisiera Poder Olvidarme De Ti. Luis Fonsi is a true bicultural artist, not to be confused with a crossover artist.
