Directed by Ivonne Belén
There was only one entry for competition from Puerto Rico at this year's Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF); Julia, Toda en mí ..., a poetic journey about the life and work of Puerto Rican poet Julia de Burgos, an important figure in Puerto Rican literature. The kickoff party for this documentary drew a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters and friends of the director, Ivonne Belén. Good food, great music and dancing was provided by the Puerto Rican Federal Affairs Administration (PRFAA), in conjunction with several other sponsors.
This year's film festival promoted cultural awareness and harmony in one of the most diverse cities in the nation.
