JOHNNY RAY & SALSA CON CLASE Crossing Over (JZ Productions)
If you enjoy salsa rhythms as well as the English lyrics of Narth American popular music, then you need to listen to Crossing Over, the new disc from Johnny Ray & Salsa Con Clase. Mainstream pop is salsafied here, with doses of tropical flavors and percussive arrangements ready to challenge the best of dancers from both worlds. Featuring the bilingual vocal interpretations of Sammy González, this recording covers classics such as Lionel Richie's mega hits Lady and Endless Leve, plus chart breakers like Hot Hot Hot, Suavecito, You're My Everything, the country music classic Before The Next Teardrop Falls and the pop hit You've Lost That Loving Feeling, plus many others. In spite of their original pop arrangements, all the selections are tastefully translated to danceable salsa rhythms via the talents of musical directors Johnny Ray and Nelson "Nicotian" Hernández, plus the superb musicianship of Isidro Infante, Rubén Rodriguez, Chino Nuñez and Horacio "El Negro" Hernández. Also featured on background vocals ore Adalberto Santiago, Gabriela Anders, Joe King and Doris Eugenio. The perfect party CDI (GR)
