Primarily known for her vocal talents, songstress Virgen Milagros Orta RodrÃguez, AKA Choco Orta, is also an accomplished percussionist, imbuing her performances with passion, devotion and appreciation of Afro-Caribbean percussion instruments and rhythms, which sets this multi-talented artist apart from other performers. She brilliantly integrates exciting conga solos in her nightclub and concert performances.
She has taken her vocal and percussive talents all over the world, including to France, where she and three other Puerto Rican musicians thrilled audiences recently for three months in the French Riviera. Orta has performed with many orchestras and musicians, including Nacho Sanabria, Roberto Angleró, Waldo Borres and Julio "Gunda" Merced. She has recorded two CDs, Sentimiento y Sabor and La Reina del Sabor. Her base of operations is Puerto Rico, and Orta can be reached at: 787-728-6595 or email at: chocorta@hotmail.com.
