Hendrickson has announced that its Haulmaax lightweight, heavy-duty rear suspension, is now available on International's 5000i and 7000 series trucks. The system incorporates new spring geometry that couples natural rubber with a high-density thermo set material for the preferred ride and handling characteristics desired in construction, refuse, logging and other heavy-duty applications, according to the company.
The system was optimized through cooperative development between Hendrickson and International, resulting in a walking-beam suspension that according to Hendrickson offers up to 17 in. of loaded, diagonal wheel articulation as well as weight saving that can result in hundreds of pounds in extra payload. Hendriekson's Ultra Rod torque rods come standard with shock absorbers available.
