Further expanding its U.S. line of products, Pramac Industries Inc. has introduced a series of gasoline pump sets ranging from 2 to 3 in. trash pumps and centrifugal pumps. The new MP 34, MP 66, MP 36 and MP 56 pumps are the latest addition to the company's portfolio, which is now more focused on the U.S. market.

Prior to this launch, the Siena, Italy-based manufacturer introduced new portable gen-sets, which it supplies through an international sales office in Medley, Fla., and a U.S. sales office in Marietta, Ga. The company's product range also includes welder generators, PTO generators and high-pressure washers.

The MP 34 and MP 66 pumps are both configured as trash pumps featuring 2 and 3 in. openings, while the MP 36 and MP 56 are centrifugal models also available in 2 and 3 in. size classes.

For the pump series, Pramac has selected Honda's GX series gasoline engines rated 5.4 to 7.9 hp. Both the MP 34 trash pump and MP 56 centrifugal pump are equipped with a 163 cc single-cylinder Honda GX160 engine rated 5.5 hp. The MP 66 features a larger 7.9 hp single cylinder GX240 engine with 242 cc displacement. Honda's 118 cc single-cylinder GX120 gasoline engine rated 3.9 hp is outfitted on the MP 36 centrifugal unit. The engines are naturally aspirated and have a recoil starter.

A spherical graphite cast-iron impeller, hi-chrome cast-iron volute and silicon carbide mechanical seat are incorporated into the pumping mechanism of the MP 34 and MP 66 trash pumps. With a 2 in. suction and discharge diameter, Pramac said the MP 34 is ideal for 1 in. solids while the MP 66 model's 3 in. diameter allows it to pass 1.5 in. solids. The units have 185 and 354 gpm capacities and 98 ft. and 89 ft. heads. Maximum pressure is 42.6 psi and 38.4 psi.

On the MP 36 and MP 56 centrifugal pumps, a cast-iron impeller, cast-iron volute and ceramic-carbon mechanical seal make up the pump assembly. The pumps were developed to pass clean water and feature 158 and 246 gpm capacities with 98 and 85 ft. heads, pressure ratings of 42.4 and 36.8 psi and 2 and 3 in. suction and discharge diameters, respectively.

According to Pramac, the pumps have a run time of 2.5 to 2.9 hours, depending on model and fuel tank capacity, which ranges from 0.66 to 1.58 gal., also depending on model. Weight of the units is 93, 128.1, 48.1 and 68 lb. and noise emissions are 106, 110, 103 and 105 dB(A), the company said.

The pumps are available with accessories that are intended to increase their application flexibility. Standard equipment includes an oil guard system, three jubilee pipe clips, two threaded couplings, filter and spark plug tool. Options include 2 or 3 in. inlet and outlet pipes.
