ArvinMeritor Inc. has announced that it will manufacture its Air Link suspension at its Sistemas Automotirices de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. joint venture facility in Monterrey, Mexico. In 2004, Air Link was added to ArvinMeritor's product line through a licensing agreement with Raydan Manufacturing of Alberta, Canada, and is suited to military applications.
The walking beam air suspension is designed to provide ride and handling characteristics of an air suspension for heavy-haul applications. Other design features include roll siability and lower maintenance.
