Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (MHI) said it will supply 200,000 turbochargers annually to French auto-maker PSA Peugeot Citroen Group beginning in June 2004. MHI said it will spend $8.1 million to increase the output capacity at its Dutch subsidiary, MHI Equipment Europe BV, its turbocharger production base for Europe, to 700,000 units by spring 2004 from the current 500,000.

MHI said it manufactures a combined 1.8 million turbochargers at three production bases in Japan, the Netherlands and South Korea. MHI will supply the turbochargers for Peugeot's 1.6 L diesel passenger car engines, the first turbo order from Peugeot since 1990.
