Hitachi Construction Machinery Co. announced plans to begin operation as an independent marketing entity in Europe. The company had previously sold construction equipment in Europe through a joint venture with Fiat SpA, but has been building its own sales network since ending that collaboration in July.

Hitachi said it will introduce 29 different models in Europe over the next year, including excavators and wheel loaders, with a full lineup available within two years.
