Algor Inc. has added a forced convection heat transfer capability to its heat transfer analysis products. This capability enables engineers to consider the effects of fluid flow when salving for temperature distribution by performing a fluid flow analysis and then considering the velocity results as part of a direct convection load in a heat transfer analysis, the company said. The heat transfer results specify temperature distribution for both the fluid and solid components in systems such as fan- or water-cooled CPUs and heat exchangers. Algor software is available for PC workstations running Windows NT, Me, 95, 98, 2000 or XP.
