New family of Asynchronous Dynos - Test Equipment 2002 - from Schenck Pegasus - Brief Article - Product Announcement
Diesel Progress North American Edition, Feb, 2002
Schenck Pegasus announced that its [Dynas.sub.3] asynchronous machine dynamometer systems family is now available in North America. Building on the success of the Dynas series in Europe, the machines are being marketed and supported worldwide and are designed to fulfill the demands of testing and calibration of a wide range of diesel and IC engines, as well as expanding the horizons of simulation capabilities in engine and vehicle development.
The [Dynas.sub.3] dynamometer systems are available in two configurations, a LI (low inertia) and HT (high torque) series. The four LI models span an overload torque capacity range of 276 to 885 lb.ft. (375 to 1200 Nm) at speeds to 10,000 rpm, a lip capacity of 235 to 737 lip (175 to 550 kW). Three HT machines provide a hp overload capability of 400 to 737 lip (300 to 550 kW).
All of the [Dynas.sub.3] units feature compact construction and high acceleration rates, the company said. The bearingless torque measurement flange offers IR signal transmission, very high overload capability, 0.1 class accuracy (0.05 accuracy is optional) and integrated quadrature speed and shaft locking mechanism. All of the machines are also available with the company's x-act modular engine and dyno control system, which can be configured for analog, digital I/O, RS232, CAN-bus or Ethernet communications.
