Hand-held tachometer - Test Equipment 2003

Diesel Progress North American Edition, Feb, 2003

Ono Sokki Technology Inc. has developed a compact hand-held tachometer with built-in analog and pulse output. The HT-5000 tachometer offers contact and noncontact measurement capabilities, including noncontact line speed, with a measurement range of 6 to 99,000 rpm in noncontact mode and 6 to 20,000 rpm in contact mode.

There are five measuring units -- rpm, rps, in/min, count and ms -- that can be used for different specific applications, along with an alarm that warns when the user has exceeded the set value. The last measured value, maximum value and minimum value are held in the memory and displayed on the LCD for 10 minutes.

The HT-5000 tachometer is powered by three AA batteries that provide 40 hours of continuous use, the company said.
