Donaldson Co - Emissions & alternatives: covering fuel cells and other emerging and alternative technologies - New York State Energy Research and Development Authority - Brief Article

Diesel Progress North American Edition, Feb, 2004

Donaldson Co. announced it will provide 1100 EPA-approved emissions control devices for the New York State Clean Air School Bus Program sponsored by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). Donaldson will work with 41 New York school districts to retrofit their buses with Donaldson Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) mufflers and Spiracle crankcase filter emission control devices.

Donaldson's systems approach to reducing emissions is designed to eliminate tailpipe and crankcase emissions, reducing total engine emissions by up to 50%. The system can be used across a broad range of school bus engines and will accommodate most fuels, including low and ultra low sulfur diesel, as well as biodiesel, the company said.
