Citing the difficulties in being a new entrant in a softening and competitive market, Hyundai Truck America has suspended sales operations - business notes - Brief Article

Diesel Progress North American Edition, Feb, 2004

Citing the difficulties in being a new entrant in a softening and competitive market, Hyundai Truck America has suspended sales operations. However, an office has been established to facilitate the availability of parts, warranty repairs and technical information for owners of Hyundai truces and Bering trucks custom manufactured by Hyundai. The company, a subsidiary of Korea's Hyundai Motor Company, began marketing Class 4 and 6 cabover engine trucks here in 2003.

The company said it found it difficult to build a dealer network of sufficient size and obtain committed favorable vehicle financing. HTA said it did not think the situation will significantly change in the near term to warrant continuing the investment.
