New York City - business notes - Brief Article

Diesel Progress North American Edition, Feb, 2004

> New York City has passed a bill requiring that any diesel-powered nonroad vehicle, with an engine 50 hp or greater, that is owned or leased by the city, must be powered by ultra low sulfur diesel fuel and must utilize the best available technology for reducing the emission of pollutants. Initially, the legislation will only apply to city projects in Lower Manhattan, but wig be phased in city-wide over the next two years.
