ACS Industries manufactures high-temperature exhaust seals for static and dynamic exhaust joint connections. The seals contain a knitted wire mesh core with either composite or graphoil filler, depending on temperature and service. These seals are used from the manifold to the muffler in spring-loaded or clamped connections providing a durable, low leak joint.
ACS also manufactures a wide variety of knitted wire mesh end seals, mesh rings and cushions for DOC, SCR and DPF catalyst and filter systems. The mesh rings are designed to contribute to mounting the substrate and to increasing the durability of the system by lowering mat erosion. The company also offers dynamic seal testing at its Rhode Island technical center.
Company News
ACS has been working with Tier 1 and OEM manufacturers on urea SCR wire mesh mixers to meet 2010 emissions requirements. The mixers are developed in a lower-cost package, which uses a low backpressure design that can be optimized to match the specifics of the injector and package. The wire mesh is also engineered to promote turbulent flow, which is designed to improve hydrolysis and thermolysis conversion of urea to ammonia, ACS said.

AirFlow provides low-temperature lightoff washcoats and catalysts for DOC and catalyzed DPF applications.
Company News
AirFlow recently installed a Synthetic Gas Reactor (SGR) test stand that is used to develop and analyze washcoats and catalysts for diesel and VOC applications. The system is based on an MKS gas analyzer and can simulate a variety of exhaust gases.

Emissions Control/ Clean Air Products
Argillion produces fully extruded SCR catalyst products that incorporate catalyst functionality into a monolith structure. The systems are targeted toward mobile equipment where SCR technology is used.
Company News
Argillion recently launched its vanadia-free, fully extruded SCR product for the U.S. and Japanese markets. The extruded design provides a high content of active component and good performance, especially at low temperatures, the company said. In addition, the design offers strong resistance to catalyst poisoning, as well as long-term stability because of its resistance to thermal shock and the fact that the process allows no spalling of the washcoat.

Emissions Control/ Clean Air Products
Aristo designs and manufactures highly engineered catalyst technologies for a wide range of diesel, gasoline and gaseous fueled engines used in on-highway, off-highway, stationary and marine applications.
Company News
Aristo is in the process of installing the second of two highly automated catalyst manufacturing systems. The first system went online last spring and is engineered to bring a new level of speed and efficiency to the precious metal washcoat process. The new system automates nearly the entire washcoat process, providing 20 different treatments to each catalyst substrate --including five weight checks, applications of the precious metal washcoat, flow checking, automated laser 2-D matrix bar code labeling on each piece--before it is furnace dried.
The entire process takes approximately an hour, and 15 different quality control checks are done automatically to make sure each catalyst is up to spec.

ArvinMeritor assists OEM and chassis suppliers in the development of full electric and hybrid drivetrains for commercial vehicles. The company's drivetrain systems include motors, generators, integral gearing, cooling, wiring and control systems. The systems can be adapted as part of a direct-to-engine mount hybrid or integrated wheel ends for drive corner modules and can result in significant reductions or even elimination of exhaust emissions.
Company News
An ArvinMeritor hybrid system has been installed in the Purolator Quicksider, a full battery electric vehicle that the company expects will reduce up to 85% of greenhouse gas emissions. Manufactured by Toronto-based Unicell, in partnership with ArvinMeritor, the Quicksider combines several operation-enhancing features including a tighter turning radius and a pneumatic suspension that enables the truck to kneel at curb level to unload packages. With the ArvinMeritor advanced electric drivetrain, the Quicksider is also expected to require less maintenance than a conventional diesel-powered delivery vehicle.
