Diesel Progress North American Edition, April, 2007
Sud-Chemie AG and Inco Ltd. have entered into a joint venture for the production and marketing of catalyzed diesel emission control materials for the automotive industry. Shares in the new company will be split between the Munich, Germany-based Sud Chemie and the Toronto, Canada-based Inco, which through the joint venture will initially concentrate on DOC and DPF applications for European passenger cars and light-duty trucks.
Expertise will be drawn from Sud-Chemie's experience in catalysis and Inco's new alloy foam substrate, which it said costs less than traditional diesel emissions control materials. Production will take place at Sud-Chemie's Heufeld site in Germany where commercial scale production is expected to begin in 2008.
