New Gen-Set Controller From Kohler
Diesel Progress North American Edition, May, 2001
As on-site power systems increase in complexity, and interaction with other control and supervisory systems grow, the need for continuous and reliable communication becomes more important. Kohler Power Systems, Kohler, Wis., has introduced its Decision-Maker 550 controller to offer users a new level of control, monitoring and diagnostics for critical applications.
The Decision-Maker 550 offers expanded communication options for a variety of power system products, including automatic transfer switches and power monitors. Networks of up to 128 devices at a single campus can be created, and the controller also communicates via Modbus, allowing integration with a variety of products including PLCs and SCADA systems.
The controller is applicable for use on Kobler's gen-sets ranging from 20 to 2000 kW.
