Diesel Progress North American Edition, May, 2008

In the April "Top Dead Center" column, we mistakenly confused Detroit Diesel and MTU Detroit Diesel. The two share a common history, but are now separate companies since the off-highway division merged with Germany's MTU Friedfichshafen. The column should have stated that it was MTU that announced at ConExpo the use of SCR technology to meet Interim Tier 4 emissions standards (for the 120 to 644 bhp portion of its product line).

Detroit Diesel then separately held a press conference at Mid-America promoting its plans to use SCR for the on-highway truck market. Diesel Progress regrets the error.
