Cifunsa, S.A. de C.V., Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, said it

plans to add melt capacity in its two-year-old foundry for diesel heads and

blocks. The additional 50,000 metric tons of melt capacity, and the already

finished core line for heavy-duty diesel engines, will increase Cifunsa's

overall melt capacity to 300,000 metric tons, to be operational second

quarter 2000. The $25 million investment is in addition to the $220 million

invested in new plant and technology since 1992.
