Deere & Co

Diesel Progress North American Edition, July, 2001

Deere & Co. has agreed to buy irrigation products distributor Richton International Corp. for about $125 million, as part of a plan to launch a new enterprise catering to landscaping and irrigation professionals. Officials said Deere plans to merge Richton's Century Supply Corp. into its McGinnis Farms unit and rename it John Deere Landscapes.

This is the third move Deere has made in this area, following the acquisition of Great Dane Power Equipment and McGinnis Farms Inc.
