John Deere - Business Notes - Brief Article

John Deere has officially closed down engine production at its Dubuque, Iowa, facility as previously announced. Production has been moved to Deere's Torreon, Mexico, operations. The Dubuque Works will assume the production of Deere's skid-steer loader line that is being moved from Loudon, Tenn. Dubuque also manufactures crawler bulldozers, crawler loaders, backhoe loaders, winches and components for various Deere heavy equipment products.

The plant opened in 1947.
