Ford Motor Co. and Westport Innovations Inc
Diesel Progress North American Edition, August, 2001
Ford Motor Co. and Westport Innovations Inc. of British Columbia, have signed a joint development agreement to use Westport's gas fuel system for light-duty Ford diesel engines. The agreement continues ongoing efforts between Ford and Westport to develop a monofuel natural gas engine derived from a production diesel engine for light-duty vehicles.
Westport has been testing the technology on Ford 1.8 L diesel engines since last year.
