National Clean Diesel Campaign

The EPA's National Clean Diesel Campaign will be awarding approximately $3.4 million under the Emerging Technologies Program to establish projects using new technology that reduces emissions on existing diesel-powered fleets. Eligible applications include state, local, regional and tribal governments, as well as nonprofits and institutions with transportation, educational service and air-quality responsibilities.
Manufacturers of emerging technologies must partner with an eligible applicant to receive funding. Intended recipients include school or transit buses, medium-and heavy-duty trucks, marine engines, locomotives and nonroad engines. The deadline to apply is Sept. 21, 2008. Emerging technologies are defined as emissions-reducing technologies not yet verified or certified by the EPA or California Air Resources Board (CARB).
