EDP Weekly's IT Monitor, March 13, 2000

ATI Technologies Inc. (TSE:ATY, NASDAQ:ATYT) announced that its ATI RAGE 128 PRO graphics chip is now available with the top of the line Gateway workstation computers, the E5400 series.

ATI's RAGE 128 PRO provides industry-leading 2D, 3D high-resolution performance; an unparalleled suite of multimedia functionality, and support for the latest software developments, all combined with ATI's renowned reliability. The RAGE 128 PRO empowers end users of the Gateway E5400 to execute highly complex computing tasks, including digital content creation, CAD/CAM, modeling, animation and desktop publishing.

The RAGE 128 PRO is matched in the new Gateway E5400 workstations with the latest Intel technology, including the Intel Pentium III 800MHz and 733MHz processors, and the Intel 840 chipset, specifically designed for high performance, multi-processor systems.

"ATI has for some time worked very closely with ISVs to ensure our graphics accelerators such as the RAGE 128 PRO not only deliver class-leading performance for the workstation market, but are fine-tuned to render the most optimal application performance possible," says Vincent Win, vice president of OEM sales, ATI Technologies Inc. "As a result, the RAGE 128 PRO is ideal for the wide range of graphics applications that can be run on the Gateway E5400, from digital content creation to the latest CAD/CAM/CAE."

The RAGE 128 PRO implements the complete AGP 4X specification, while maintaining full backward compatibility to the AGP 2X interface and the millions of RAGE 128 parts already shipped. The RAGE 128 PRO provides 32-bit true color quality, and offers the industry's only integrated iDCT and motion compensation solution, permitting DVD decode to be accomplished with an absolute minimum of CPU usage. Support for HDTV and the simultaneous capture of two video streams is also included.
