I-Data Printing System Enters Licensing Agreement With Ibm - Company Business and Marketing - Brief Article

EDP Weekly's IT Monitor, April 3, 2000

i-data Printing Systems, an i-data international business unit, has entered into a licensing agreement with IBM Corp. The agreement allows IBM to include i-data Printing Systems transform software into IBM's OS/390 (mainframe) Flagship Software, Infoprint Server for OS/390.

Under this agreement, IBM will license I-data print transform software, including Advanced Function Presentation (AFP) to HP Printer Control Language (HP PCL), Postscript and Adobe Acrobat PDF formats. Effectively, this enables IBM's Infoprint Server to distribute AFP documents to a wide range of PCL and Postscript workgroup printers or as PDF files, which is the de-facto document format on the Internet. The i-data Printing Systems software licensed is part of I-data's Enterprise Print Manager (EPM) product for OS/390.
