ADC's Cuda 12000 IP access switch expands its share of the CMTS market

During the first half of 2002, ADC (Nasdaq:ADCT; www.adc.com) won 19% of the $181.9 million worldwide cable broadband access platform market, according to a recent report published by Gartner Dataquest. With this share, ADC is now the second largest supplier of DOCSIS-qualified cable broadband access platforms that incorporate cable modem termination system (CMTS) functionality, as reported in the study, "Cable Broadband Access Platforms: Market Share for 1H02 and Forecast, 2002-2006."
"We continue to see growing acceptance for our Cuda product line," said Hilton Nicholson, president of the IP Cable Business Unit at ADC. "ADC is pleased to see these results which show we are now second in the cable broadband access platform market with first half revenues for 2002 have already more than doubled our revenue for all of 2001. Four of the top six domestic MSOs have placed orders for the Cuda 12000 IP Access Switch, and we are further penetrating the MSO market in Europe and Asia as the demand for next generation IP services increases."
ADC's Cuda 12000 is the world's most widely deployed next generation, DOCSIS 1.1-qualified carrier-class CMTS platform and provides multiple system operators (MSOs) with a carrier-class foundation for advanced services such as tiered data and IP voice. In addition, the Cuda 12000 enables commercial services and future IP-based capabilities such as gaming and streaming video.
