SiteScape Acquires AltaVista Forum Software From Compaq Computer

EDP Weekly's IT Monitor, May 17, 1999

SiteScape Inc., an Alexandria, Va., Internet solutions company, has acquired AltaVista Forum from Compaq Computer Corp., with plans to immediately release SiteScape Forum 4.0, a new, faster version of the Web-based groupware solution designed to facilitate communication, sharing of resources, and collaboration between teammates and other business groups.

SiteScape is an authorized Compaq enterprise reseller with a successful track record selling and implementing Forum and other AltaVista solutions. According to Tim Butler, president of SiteScape, "Given the extensive design work that Compaq has invested in the Forum product over the past four years and our prior experience building customized solutions for the entire AltaVista product family, we fully expect to be the industry leader in collaborative team groupware in a very short time."
