Evoke Software Market Strategy Supports Pricewaterhousecoopers' Global Data Management Survey Findings - Company Business and Marketing
EDP Weekly's IT Monitor, June 18, 2001
Evoke Software's COO, Rick Cortese has announced that a recent PricewaterhouseCoopers' survey corroborated Evoke Software's own observations and experience with prospects and customers -- that data management issues are becoming major obstacles for applications such as SAP, i2, PeopleSoft and others.
Cortese stated that in the last few months a number of articles have appeared regarding the growing data quality challenges facing corporations. According to PricewaterhouseCoopers' Global Data Management Survey, fully 75% of the 600 companies interviewed reported experiencing significant problems due to data accuracy issues. Additionally the report states that less than 50% of the companies polled have complete confidence in the quality of their own data and less than a fifth have confidence in the data passed to them by other companies.
"Data integrity is becoming increasingly important to the stability and growth of Fortune 2000 businesses," stated Cortese. "We have seen a substantial number of key initiatives like CRM, eCommerce, Business Intelligence and ERP fail simply because companies did not acknowledge the importance of completely understanding their data before centralization and migration projects were begun."
Evoke Software is an enterprise-wide solution leading to accurate data across entire companies. In the coming months, it will introduce a series of new products and services designed to assist its customers in Data Profiling and leveraging their corporate data assets to enable improved customer retention programs and new revenue offerings.
According to the PricewaterhouseCoopers report, the majority of companies it surveyed stated they did not have a documented board approved data strategy, yet over 90% of the respondents expected their usage of enterprise-wide applications to grow during the next two years. With the continued trend in mergers and acquisitions and additional economic pressures impacting CEOs and IT directors, a clear need for the automated provision of accurate data exists. Evoke Software is committed to meeting that need.
