Ixl Launches Amss It Maintenance Solution - Company Business and Marketing
EDP Weekly's IT Monitor, July 2, 2001
iXL (Nasdaq: IIXL) has launched a proprietary solutions set and methodology to address the rapidly growing IT maintenance market. The solution, iXL's Applications Management and Support Services or AMSS, is designed to meet the growing challenges corporations face in managing and maintaining the systems and applications fundamental to their success.
"For every dollar companies spend on Web development, they will spend another 75 cents on the deployment and operations behind their online presence, and more than half of a company's IT budget can be dedicated to maintenance," said iXL Senior Vice President and Global Managing Partner J. Biere Marceau. "AMSS provides a comprehensive solution and an integration provider that can leverage partnerships to deliver valuable IT services and maximize the return on technology investments."
iXL develops and implements applications for some of the world's largest and best-known companies. Clients frequently select maintenance services from iXL as a component of their continuing engagements or may choose iXL to maintain and manage their IT assets as a stand-alone service.
"Rapidly changing technology presents corporations with tremendous challenges in managing and maintaining their systems and applications," Marceau added. "The pains that come with that responsibility, including shifting staffing requirements and the need to reduce operating costs, can be eased by outsourcing to a dedicated provider like iXL, which specializes in the provision of these solutions."
iXL has the added advantage of its offshore partner HPS to deliver extremely high-quality, cost-effective technology-based applications to its clients. HPS is a joint venture between HCL Technologies Limited, India's largest information technology company, and Perot Systems, the world's third largest IT outsourcing company.
"The strong relationship between iXL and HPS provides clients with the capabilities of more than 4,000 employees on three continents; SEI CMM Level 5 certified professionals; and cost effective combinations of onsite, offsite, onshore and offshore development," Marceau said.
