ECVISION LAUNCHES XpressCommerce iDX Manager - Product Announcement
EDP Weekly's IT Monitor, July 23, 2001
ecVision(TM), a leading provider of collaboration software for automating the international supply chain via the Internet, has released XpressCommerce iDX Manager a secure, scalable, affordable, XML-based document exchange platform. XpressCommerce iDX Manager brings secure multipoint-to-multipoint document exchange to international trade related industries that need to exchange business documents electronically.
Like Value Added Networks (VANs), XpressCommerce iDX Manager supports Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) standard and document/file exchange. iDX Manager provides all of the features (e.g., security, mailboxes, audit trail, and the ability to integrate with existing systems or 3rd party software) of a VAN plus the speed, ease, and low cost of an Internet connection. Its unique XML design facilitates any-to-any document transfer, document format conversion (EDI to XML), and document type turning (purchase order to packing list) of any exchanged document.
"Past Internet document exchange solutions had some drawbacks, little security, no reliability guarantees, and no possibility of an audit trail for messages," said Thomas Ng, ecVision CEO. "By allowing trading partners to collaborate via encrypted messaging, XpressCommerce iDX Manager protects mission-critical relationships between trading partners in a variety of industries."
XpressCommerce iDX Manager enables trade services in banking and financial institutions to deploy a comprehensive and streamlined online system that helps eliminate paperwork, improves transaction processing speed and accuracy, and significantly reduces the cost of traditional letter of credit trade payments and financing methods.
Logistics service providers can now leverage XpressCommerce iDX Manager to send timely and accurate documents such as advance shipment notices (ASN) and invoices from international suppliers and transfer documents to overseas buyers via the Internet.
Additionally, the XpressCommerce iDX Manager document exchange solution creates additional revenue streams and cuts trading partners' costs by offering them Application Service Provider (ASP) document exchange services.
