Hitachi Ubiquitous Business Solutions (UBS) has announced that its flagship wireless thin client tablet, VisionPlate, will be used by Xplore Solutions, a Hitachi OEM partner, to demonstrate home management applications at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) currently under way in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Xplore Solutions, an innovator in Home control systems, develops seamless commercial and residential automation solutions to control every facet of a home--audio visual, security, HVAC, lighting, and complete internet access--from any PC or wireless touch screen interface, such as VisionPlate. Xplore's innovative home management demonstration is part of CES' NextGen 2004 exhibit, an outdoor, 2300 square-foot home exhibit showcasing over 80 product and service providers of next generation home management solutions.

"With Xplore Solutions bringing together its experience in home management, Linux-based operating system, IP-based home control system, and Hitachi's VisionPlate, homeowners are discovering new ways of managing appliances, entertainment centers, home theatres, and business-based applications. This makes the new generation home safer, more efficient, and more enjoyable--all without stretching the budget," said Shigemi Adachi, general manager of Hitachi' Ubiquitous Business Solutions.
