Federal Government Chooses Trident Data For Critical Infrastructure Protection

Effort Aims To Strengthen US Defense Against Attacks By Cyber Terrorists
Trident Data Systems, a provider of technologies that aid in the fight against cyber threats, has been awarded a Blank Purchase Agreement (BPA) to furnish critical infrastructure protection (CIP) services to the federal government.The BPA is part of the General Services Administration's (GSA's) Program Safeguard, a multi-year vehicle providing a full-range of professional services and products to strengthen US defenses against emerging unconventional threats, including assaults on critical infrastructures and cyber attacks. GSA is the federal government chief purchasing agency.
According to Trident President Art Davis, "The purpose of this BPA is to provide the federal government with the means to assess potential areas of risk and exposures to attack.Trident brings nearly a quarter century of experience providing information protection services to the federal government, the national intelligence community, and the commercial market."
Trident's BPA will be open to all federal agencies, and can be used to procure services and products worldwide in the following broad functional areas:
* Critical Infrastructure Asset Identification
* Vulnerability Assessment and Threat Identification
* Critical Infrastructure Protection Readiness and Contingency Planning
* Physical Infrastructure Protection
* Information Systems Security and Information Assurance
* Emergency Preparedness Training, Exercises, and Simulation
Trident's GSA Safeguard team is comprised of experts in the information protection and information assurance disciplines, including Veridian, Internet Security Systems (ISS) and L-3 Network Security Solutions.Veridian provides CIP readiness and contingency planning, while ISS provides firewall products, and L-3 provides Risk Assessment tools."The combination of Trident, Veridian, ISS, and L-3 means one-stop, full service information assurance and critical infrastructure protection solutions to all our federal customers," Davis says.
